José Altuve was removed from the game against the Mets after arguing with the umpire.
Jose altuve has been suspended today after the argumen…..
He was called out and then he snapped at the higher authority in a game were they had control
Jose Altuve had a rough day in New York, as he was ejected after protesting throwing his helmet and bat. The Houston Astros and New York Mets faced each other this Sunday for the third and final game of the series over the weekend at Citi Field in a great MLB series.
The visiting team came into Sunday’s matchday with a 41-41 record after Saturday’s victory, one that included a comeback. Meanwhile, the Mets did so with an even record of 40-40. Both teams were playing .500 ball.
Venezuelan star Jose Altuve started for the Houston Astros. He did it as a second baseman on defense and leading off at bat. He had two hits, one at the start of the game and another with which he drove in the fourth run of the game for a then 4-0 lead, but then everything went sideways. In the seventh inning he returned to the box to face rival starter Luis Severino.
The turning point in the game before hi got tossed out
In a count of one ball and one strike he swung at a sinker from the Dominican right-hander. He hit a shot that landed right in front of him. In fact, Jose Altuve alleged that he hit him in the foot. The ball continued heading into the third baseman’s territory. Mark Vientos caught and released for first to get him out.
After the umpire ratified the decision, Jose Altuve became upset. He threw the helmet hard toward the ground and did the same with the bat. Automatically the third base umpire, Alan Porter, ejected him. The audience, which usually boos him, took the opportunity to get even more into him.
It is the second time he has been expelled in his entire Major League career, both by Porter. In his place came Chas McCormick. But this time many believe he could receive a fine for his actions. The Mets ended up coming back in the game and tying it, only for the Astros to win it in extra innings.
