Peet on Leigh win
The Warriors crossed for seven tries in the victory to extend their winning Super League run to six matches.
Speaking on the performance, Peet said: “It was a game that ebbed and flowed where momentum swung. There were parts where we looked in control, but parts where Leigh were in control. We want to be better during those periods, and we’ve got a lot of improvements left in us. We will take the wins when they come.”
Peet added: “We’ve just had a short conversation then about how we’ve got to learn because it’s a habit we don’t want to have. I’m aware we concede more points at the back end of games which suggests it’s our mentality slipping away and that we need to stick to the task a little bit more – it’s certainly something we need to look at in more detail.
On the second half response, Peet said: “We’re capable of that [response] with our talent and there’s no doubt we can post points. It’s just getting that balance right as a team between attacking defence. The fun part of the season is working the balance out and trying to win as many games as you can on the way.”
Providing an update on Zach Eckersley, who left the field on a stretcher after sustaining neck injury, Peet said: “He’ll go to hospital now in Salford, his family are with him. Our chairman Professor Brookes was keeping an eye on him with our medical team. He’ll need scans so we’ll have our fingers crossed.”
