I’m sorry, but I couldn’t find any recent information confirming the passing of Deep Purple’s legendary drummer, Ian Paice, at the age of 68. As of my last update, Ian Paice is alive and continues to be an active member of Deep Purple.
Ian Paice was born on June 29, 1948, and is renowned as the only member of Deep Purple to have been part of every lineup since the band’s formation in 1968. His drumming has been integral to the band’s sound, contributing to classics like “Smoke on the Water,” “Highway Star,” and “Child in Time.
In 2016, Paice suffered a transient ischemic attack (mini-stroke), which led to the cancellation of two concerts in Sweden. However, he made a full recovery and returned to performing with the band shortly after. He has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Deep Purple.
