In a major recruiting win for the Kentucky Wildcats, standout small forward Braydon Hawthorne has officially flipped his commitment and pledged to join Coach Mark Pope’s 2025-26 roster. Hawthorne, a 6’8″, 185-pound versatile wing, had been heavily pursued by multiple top programs before ultimately choosing Kentucky.

Originally committed elsewhere, Hawthorne’s decision to flip is a significant boost for the Wildcats as they continue to reshape their roster under new leadership. Known for his athleticism, defensive intensity, and improving offensive game, Hawthorne fits the mold of the modern, positionless player Kentucky has targeted this offseason.

“After a lot of thought and conversations with my family, I believe Kentucky is the best place for me to develop and chase my dreams,” Hawthorne said in his announcement. “Coach Pope’s vision for the program and the trust they showed me made it an easy choice.”

Hawthorne joins a talented incoming class that already features a mix of high school stars and proven transfers. His addition adds even more depth and versatility to a Kentucky squad looking to reestablish itself among college basketball’s elite.

The Wildcats’ fanbase now eagerly awaits to see how Hawthorne’s skillset will translate when he steps onto the Rupp Arena floor.
