There was a decent doc film on Blackmore called “The Ritchie Blackmore Story” that came out in
2015.
Theres an official Ritchie Blackmore YouTube channel and a bunch short excerpt clips were available there. Mostly Ritchie discussing things from his in-home tavern/pub and clips of other guitarist talking about him.
It’s a bit of a “puff” piece but there’s lots of good footage, music and stories…just from one point of view.
I think his wife has been helping him stay engaged with fans as they sometimes post new videos discussing points of interests and questions they must get in the comments of previous posts.
Ian Paice was doing something similar for a while…telling stories and answering questions. He showed off all his drum kits etc…Ian Paice Drumtribe it’s called
UPDATE: Netflix’s answer to my question today about the documentary’s authenticity is as follows:
“According to recent reports, a documentary about Ritchie Blackmore is set to be released on Netflix in March 2025. This documentary is often referred to as “The Ritchie Blackmore Story.” And the date will be released soon on our social media platform; please be connected with us on it.”
Yes, I’m aware of that. They responded in the affirmative when I specifically asked if this was a new documentary.
Whatever inference we want to make from it is up to us. I simply wanted to share what I was told.
