SAD NEWS: Laliga rejects Real Madrid request ahead Champions League clash with Arsenal…

In a recent development, LaLiga has denied Real Madrid’s request to reschedule their upcoming match against Deportivo Alavés. The club sought to move the fixture from Sunday, April 13, to Saturday, April 12, aiming to provide the team with additional rest before their crucial Champions League quarter-final return leg against Arsenal on Wednesday, April 16, at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Real Madrid initially approached Alavés, who agreed to the proposed change. The club then submitted a formal request to LaLiga, emphasizing that the adjustment would enhance their preparation for the European clash. However, LaLiga rejected the appeal, stating that the request was submitted past the established deadline, as match schedules had been finalized on March 20.

This decision has sparked controversy, especially considering that other European clubs, including FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Inter Milan, have been granted favorable scheduling to ensure adequate rest before their respective Champions League matches. The disparity has led to accusations of unequal treatment, with Real Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, expressing dissatisfaction over the lack of consideration for his team’s recovery needs.

LaLiga’s stance has intensified the debate over scheduling fairness, particularly as teams navigate the demands of domestic and European competitions. Real Madrid’s upcoming fixtures are pivotal, and the tight schedule may impact their performance in both LaLiga and the Champions League.
