EPL: I won’t be given time to fix issues
at Man Utd – said by Amorim…
Ruben Amorim, appointed as Manchester United’s head coach in November 2024, has faced significant challenges in his tenure. The team’s recent 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest marked their 13th loss of the Premier League season, placing them 13th in the table. Amorim acknowledged the urgency of improving the team’s performance, stating, “I will not have time, I have to get it right, fast.”
Reflecting on his situation, Amorim noted that he is unlikely to receive the same amount of time to implement changes as Mikel Arteta did at Arsenal. Arteta, appointed in late 2019, had a challenging start but was eventually given time to reshape the team, leading to significant improvements. Amorim, however, feels that such patience may not be afforded to him, acknowledging, “I will not have the time that Arteta had. I feel that. It’s a different club.”
The pressure is mounting for Amorim, as he understands that managerial positions at top clubs come with high expectations and limited tolerance for prolonged periods without positive results. He remarked, “I know that if we don’t win, regardless if they pay the buyout or not, every manager is in danger.”
Looking ahead, Manchester United faces a crucial match against Manchester City on Sunday, April 6, 2025. This game presents an opportunity for Amorim to secure a vital victory and begin turning the team’s fortunes around.
